At the beginning of the year while I was milling around looking for a decent brief to get started on I spent a couple of days in the Animation Suite getting familiar with the Stop motion software.
After an hour or so of fiddling with paper I finally came up with this short.

New Punctuation Mark (Videos)
These two videos were created as an alternative conclusion to the punctuation mark brief.
While they aren't as finalised as the poster idea, after some discussion with tutors, creating these proposals for motion graphics pieces I felt turned out to be a good idea.
The theme is pretty simple, the slogan which is used to represent the idea behind the punctuation mark is used in a time based way.
Rhetorical Question Mark
Incredulation Mark

Teefs
Never seem to work with Illustrator, find it quite difficult.
I had a little play around with it a little while ago and came up with these little guys.

Dropping Dirty Disco Bombs

Back in first year when we did our first letterpress session we were asked to come up with a saying or a slogan that we wanted to letter press, I came up with 'dropping dirty disco bombs' and it seems to have stuck with me over the years.
I saw a piece of illustration online which really influenced this piece. I wanted to re-create the techno-ey neon-ey look of the work I'd seen on a piece of text and this slogan popped up again.
HP: Pop-Up Brief
Below are some images I took of the preliminary stages of the HP brief I'm currently working on.
Using "The Elements Of Pop-Up" (a brilliant guide book on the basics of making pop-ups) I re-created some of the pop-ups and made my own little version of the book.

Below are images taken from the book on the right, "Objects and Characters" was created using the templates found on Robert Sabuda's website to give me a feel for pop ups in a more specific way.

Overall I feel like this brief is going quite well so far, the pop up guides have proved really useful and I hope to get some storyboards for my video up soon.

Welcome Flourish
Just another quick little side project getting more familiar with 3D layers in After Effects.
New Punctuation Mark
The New Punctuation Mark brief was one I came across on Jonathan Barnbrook's website towards the beginning of the year.

Felt quite proud of this project once it'd been completed. Normally don't do just print based design because it tends not to be my strongest area but I was really happy with the results. I was particularly pleased with the turn around time of this project. Because it was the first of the year I didn't want to spend too long getting back into a rhythm so it was perfect.
The idea behind the brief was simple, to create a new punctuation mark and give it a meaning, and then to present your idea as a poster.
For my research I decided to make these little 'Guides to punctuation'
As you can see below, one for common and one for the uncommon punctuation marks that exist in our language. I felt this was a nicer way to present research than a sketchbook and gave me a chance to practice some bookbinding.

In the end, I made a series of 4 posters as I couldn't decide which I liked the best.
I printed the final pieces out on some lovely textured grey card from Fred Aldous.

Where In The World Is Sackboy?
Where in the World is Sackboy
I stumbled across this funny little video on YouTube, which turned out to be a great tribute to the infamous Where The Hell is Matt series.
Little Big Planet was a strong influence is my most recent project for the ScienceMuseum because of it's quirky and wide age-span appeal.
If you haven't experienced any of the Where The Hell Is Matt videos, you can find them on his website here:
